As we look forward to a new benefits year, with a goal of minimizing the number of changes, here’s an overview of what you need to know for 2021.

Medical

  • Payroll contributions will not be increasing*
  • No increases to copayments, coinsurance, or deductibles*
  • No changes to what’s covered

Based on your elections, increased Tobacco and Working Person surcharges may apply.

Dental

  • New plan maximums will apply
  • New contributions will apply

Prescription Drugs

  • No changes to coinsurance or copayments*
  • Changes to the retail pharmacy network**
  • Required use of mail order for certain long-term / maintenance medication refills**

Annual Enrollment—taking place from 9/14 to 10/2—is your opportunity to review and make updates to your GE Health Choice benefits for next year.

This is your opportunity to review and make updates to your GE Health Choice Benefits for next year. It’s also a good time to confirm the family members you elect to cover, review contact and beneficiary information for all your plans, and contribute to spending and savings accounts.

* Your contributions or out-of-packet maximum under GE Health Choice (GEHC) may increase if your annual pay increased in 2020. Updated surcharges for 2021 (tobacco and working person) may apply.

** If you have a prescription impacted by these changes, you will be notified directly.

California employees currently enrolled in Option 2 Select (Kaiser) will receive a separate communication regarding changes to their coverage.
